We have developed a unique test which identifies high school students who are strong in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and who show aptitude to be successful at university
– the Scientia Test.
The Scientia Test allows you to plan your future by enabling successful students to receive an early offer of study into a UNSW Foundation Studies program, Commerce or Science stream – a direct pathway into a UNSW Sydney degree.
The Scientia Test is a written, skills-based test which allows students and parents to assess true academic capability rather than just knowledge retention – no extra preparation required. It is also aligned to STEM courses worldwide.

You must present this information upon arrival.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the official test start time.

Designed to assess your ability to reason, interpret and solve problems in mathematics and science.
Test participants answer questions based on their understanding of mathematical and scientific concepts.
The test is designed to challenge students’ ability to make logical deductions, evaluate information, solve unfamiliar problems and apply mathematical formulas.

The Scientia Test allows successful students to receive an offer to a UNSW Foundation Studies program – a pathway into UNSW bachelor degrees. Offers to UNSW Foundation Studies may be made solely based on their Scientia Test results, subject to achieving minimum English requirements. To be eligible for the Scientia Test, applicants must be studying Year 11 or Year 12 or equivalent and provide evidence of their current academic results.
